Join us October 12th, 2024 for a family-friendly fundraising walk on Thanksgiving Saturday to support mothers, babies, and families served by The Amani Family Centre in Kampala, Uganda.

About the event
Mama Imara is organizing this walk for the second year. Last year, we raised over $7,000, which provided medical supplies and covered midwives and clinic staff salaries. With your support, we aim to make an even more significant impact this year!
Thanksgiving weekend is a beautiful time to Step up for Mothers who would otherwise not have the care they need to deliver their babies safely. ALL proceeds from this walk will benefit the bustling Amani Family Centre, located in the heart of the Kanyagogo slum community in Kampala, to provide free, safe, compassionate, evidence-based maternal and infant care to impoverished women. Your participation in this event will directly impact these families.

Join us in Strathcona Park for a lovely walk along the river starting at 10 AM. Parking is available at 25 Range Road in the Strathcona Parking lot, or along Donald Street. The Rideau Sports Centre (1 Donald St., Ottawa) has graciously offered to provide complimentary coffee and tea and to use its washrooms.
